Kimbrough on Pitching 101 versus pitching in the room

“… Forget about your logline. This is like talking with your best friend. It’s totally fine to start with something like DIE HARD in the Jungle. And then you explain. They don’t really need a lot to get the story, just how you’d explain it to a friend. You need the hook, the main characters, the conflict and what drives the story. Most of all, you need passion. It’s a great story, let them hear it in your voice. But in a genuine way. If you really like your story, it should come natural. Don’t ramble on, but it’s not like anyone is timing you. Ever been in a boring conversation? It’s like that. Don’t let the conversation get boring….”
